The Hotel is centrally located in Caithness (approx 7 miles west of the county town of Wick) and is ideally located for fishing and shooting or just an easy break away from all the hustle and bustle. Even if you are travelling to the Orkney Islands the Brown Trout Hotel is only a30 minute drive from either the John O' Groats ferry or Gills ferry. If you enjoy fly fishing or game shooting then you will enjoy your stay in Caithness. The Brown Trout Hotel is situated only half a mile south from the popular Loch Watten. There are eight rooms available in the Brown Trout Hotel. Three family rooms, one twin room and four single rooms. All rooms have televisions and tea and coffee making facilities. The restaurant offers a wide range of meals using local and fresh produce. (Have a look at our current restaurant menu). The Brown Trout Hotel also has a lounge bar which can be hired for private functions, or just pop in and enjoy a drink in the hotel bar and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and good old Scottish hospitality. The Brown Trout Hotel also has a house attached which has three bedrooms sleeping six persons in total. The house is open plan and centrally heated. It is also fully furnished and can be self catering too. The house is available for a short break or even a block booking if you so wish.
